Two very different Fiber Arts, both offered under one roof this weekend. 3:30 – 5:30 Wednesdays, students must register for entire 6 week session.

Starting March 26, it runs every Wednesday in April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30.
Children ages 5-10 will learn various hand sewing techniques, pattern making, pinning & cutting with

Planet Awkward’s Lucia Siam.

Projects will include: Making a small pouch or purse, creating an animal or creature.

Not only are we gearing up for our fabulous Cascade Yarn Tasting, but we will be celebrating the work of 2 amazing Baltimore artists!

Robert Hoffman (our favorite yarnbomber) will have his paintings and mixed media work in our classroom gallery and Jennifer Strunge  of Cotton Monster has installed her work in our front gallery windows.

Thank you to everyone who made this project happen, it was so much fun to do and todays install was so fast and easy! It is on display all weekend at the Pratt Street entrance of the Baltimore Convention Center.

We’re Making History: The ACC’s First Ever Yarn Bomb

We are gearing up mentally, we’re all packed up, our ducks are in a row… ready to commence tomorrow morning from 8-10 as we carry out the
American Craft Council’s first ever yarn bomb!!!
Marlo and Allison will be in Conversation Corner Blue at 11 am Friday to talk about that the global phenomenon of yarn bombing, what it’s all about and highlight some homegrown Baltimore yarn bombs.  (Encore presentation Sunday 3 pm Conversation Corner Orange)

People attending the show will be greeted at the Pratt Street entrance of the Baltimore Convention Center with an installation of site specific original fiber artwork created right here in our classroom. This large scale yarn bombing was made using Eco+ 100% Peruvian Highland Wool that we carry in our shop from Cascade Yarns (Thank you Cascade for your donation!).
